(In)Body play record release show at El Cid on 3.25

(In) Body is a duo of newcomers with the undertandings of seasoned academics. Ryan Amador and Daniel Weidlein are taking more of a pop approach with their collaborative partnership after having followed paths of distinction: Amador won the ASCAP Robert Allen Award in 2013, while Weidlein has seen some charting success as a jazz session musician. But with this project they put forth a soulful embrace of synth-based arrangements and vocal harmonies that are emotionally charged and anything but scholarly.

Helped by lead single "Safe In Your Heart", the duo are playing a record release show at El Cid on March 25 to promote their upcoming debut EP, Becom(in)g.

Get your Shamrock Shimmy on

It's that time of year again...St. Patrick's Day. A day where we wear green to avoid getting pinched, get terribly wasted on dyed green boozy beverages, and pretend like we're celebrating Irish culture when in reality we're just looking for another excuse to day drink. No matter your reasons for indulging in whatever festivities you choose, one good time to consider would be the Shamrock Shimmy happening at the Goodfoot that night. Both Tribe Mars and POPgoji are set to play. Both of their approaches to a culturally varied neo-soul, hip hop and jazz are sure to make you want to dance about. Just be careful not to spill green beer on anyway as you girate.

Tickets run $7 and doors are at 9pm. Bring your luck and cheer, and join in on the fun!

Palmas take their beachy vibes to Berlin on 3.24

Images of California and West Coast chill factors readily come to mind when listening of surf rock infused music. Philly/NYC based band Palmas brings that West Coast warmth and sunshine to the East Coast with their retro croon-pop. With hazy guitars and distant, reverb-drenched vocals Palmas’ sound readily evokes sepia-tinted memories of swaying waves at the beach. Since Brighton Beach’s waters are still too cold to enjoy, come and welcome spring's much awaited warm weather with Palmas at Berlin on 3.24 as they accompany dream pop Brooklyn band Surf Rock is Dead. - Adriana S Ballester
