Evelyn Cormier continues to blossom in new single "Little White Rabbit"

As if inside a cavern of delightful sounds and shimmering lights, Evelyn Cormier’s latest single “Little White Rabbit” is meant for exploration and admiration. The delicate acoustic guitar riffs of the song dance to resounding chords and piano notes that trickle towards the commanding vocals of Cormier, gentle and assertive all at once. The story “Little White Rabbit” tells is of separation and its accompanying heartache but also of the bravery that brews beneath the surface of that, the courage to let to go, the resolve to begin again. Cormier, the New Hampshire artist, delivers a brand of indie-folk that is immediately recognizable, and that continues to blossom; stream her latest single “Little White Rabbit” below. - Rene Cobar

Multi-instrumentalist Junior Mesa shares new single "Losing My Grip", plus video

At the beginning of the month, multi-instrumentalist Junior Mesa celebrated his 21st birthday with the release of two singles, "Losing My Grip" and "Creep". Junior broke out in the scene with his 2019 EP Peace, and was set to play SXSW and hit the road with fellow LA band Inner Wave this past spring. Though the performances never happened, the musical output remains steady; Junior's two new singles show two different emotions that have bubbled up during the past few months. "Losing My Grip" gets into a groove that fights off the quarantine blues, and the video shows Junior and his housemates jamming out together to keep up their spirits. "Creep", on the other hand, locks into a melancholic beat and has Junior singing about lost love. We've featured the video for "Losing My Grip" below; take a look. - Will Sisskind

The Icebergs' ear for eclectic expands on new LP "Add Vice"

The sauntering, somewhat singsong nature of the Icebergs is a terrifyingly brilliant thing to behold, one that through experimental, frequently cello-centric instrumentation upends expectations at every turn. Their new record Add Vice condenses the songwriting of poet and songwriter Jane LeCroy into winding scenes of weird Americana, propelled by tactile instrumentation and a strong bent towards jazz. LeCroy’s cynical tone and weaving vocal performance make Vice perfect listening for fans of Fiona Apple and Tom Waits — give it a long, ruminiative listen below.

Neo-grunge DIY act The Waking Point releases new single "Bad Girl"

DIY newcomer Sadie Belica released "Bad Girl" earlier this month; it's the latest single from her project The Waking Point in 2020. Leaning into the grunge vibe, "Bad Girl" portrays an abusive relationship through Belica's intense vocals and instrumentation. During the pandemic, Belica has put out music through which she airs out her most painful experiences; you can hear the trauma in every beat of "Bad Girl", which you can listen to below. After that, take a listen to Belica's "Rose Colored Violence", her debut release this year. - Will Sisskind
