Two Boots Pizza is throwing the fourth grade class party of your dreams, but with booze!
Show Alert: Tetherball's "Fiesta Party" 1.17 at The High Watt

The Fiesta Party is one of those events that gets better and better the deeper you go. Salsa dancing lessons, a taco bar, and a MF-ing pinata in the High Watt? The real question this raises is why is this not happening every night? The evening makes more sense when it becomes clear that Steve Voss of Tetherball is behind the madness, which also explains the killer lineup of The Gills, Charlie Whitten and recent addition Bear in the Campsite. Between contributing to the Monster Bash blowout over Halloween and this hoedown on Saturday, Voss is starting to display a proclivity for curating entire experiences, and has hinted that this is not the last themed show of his design. Tetherball continbues this spirit of head-scratching fun by reinterpreting their own album "Whimsy" with jazz outfit Hot Club Time Machine, and releasing the session as "Gypsy Jazzivore." Watch this video of a trippy cover of a song about absinthe hallucinations below. It's kind of meta.
Fiesta Party kicks off at 7pm at The High Watt this Saturday, January 17th. $7 bucks gets you admission, a salsa dancing lesson, pinata swings and all the tacos you can eat. Tickets are available HERE. -Terra James-Jura
Listen to This Exclusive Stream of Tetherball's "Whimsy" Right Now!

We are so excited to bring you this exclusive stream of Tetherball's debut album "Whimsy," a week before it's release date of October 28th. The single "Spring Chicken" first caught out ear in September, and put us back in touch with long-lost fantasies of going fishing with Les Claypool. The subsequent video for "Bootss" put us over the edge. We were so taken by their twisted genre-hopping that we made "Whimsy" our CD of the Month, and the Tetherball camp was kind enough to let us stream the album before it officially drops. The band is doing some great things this month, including a CMJ showcase in New York on October 25th, and a show at homebase Silver Point Studios on Halloween. Take a listen below to what has got us all hot and bothered. -Terra James-Jura

Tetherball to Release Full-Length "Whimsy" in October

Sometimes it doesn't take much for The Deli to dig a song. Take, for instance, Tetherball's brand-new single, "Bootss." Yeah, it was interesting reading up on producer, musician, and major label expat Steve Voss's overarching plans to eventually include film, print, and other media beneath the Tetherball umbrella (check out a music video teaser here.) Maybe learning that Philip K. Dick has a strong influence on some compositions had us fanning ourselves a little. But before this, we were already hooked by those first two gnarly chords in the beginning of "Bootss." The track beefs up around them as it goes on, and the resulting choppy, Daft-Punk-vs-Primus smackdown is so satisfying to listen to; Voss' gift for weaving together discord had us eager to hear how he was going to make the next scrap fit. The band's next show will be October 6th at The High Watt. Tetherball's debut full-length, "Whimsy," will be released this October via Silver Point Records, and we can't wait. -Terra James-Jura
