The Extraordinaires
New The Extraordinaires LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

It's been way too long since we've heard a full-length release from the always creative art-popsters The Extraordinaires. They had faced plenty of obstacles over the past few years with the sudden folding of their record label Punk Rock Payroll and multiple band reconfigurations due to founding member Matt Gibson's hiatus as Man Man's multi-istrumentalist and the exodus of drummer Evan Smoker. However, Gibson has returned, and seems more dedicated to succeed with his comrades than ever. And The Extraordinaires appear to have their songwriting mojo back, judging by their new album Dress for Nasty Weather (Color Theory Records), which you can listen to (and purchase) in its entirety below.

New Music Video: "Blue Moon" - The Extraordinaires

With The Extraordinaires, every release feels like an art project. And with the new music video for their single, "Blue Moon," off the band's forthcoming album Dress for Nasty Weather, you find the group tramp-ishly bonding together, creating something that is all at once so heartwarmingly beautiful, strange and romantically timeless. The fellas outdid themselves on this one. It premiered yesterday over at The Key. The Extraordinaires will be celebrating the release of their new record this Saturday at Johnny Brenda's with Grandchildren and Teen Men.
Birdie Busch, The Extraordinaires, and Lux Perpetua playing Boot and Saddle April 2nd

Whether it’s successfully using a crowd-funding site like PledgeMusic for a new album, or playing shows everywhere from venues to tour buses to cemeteries, Birdie Busch has a way of sticking out. Not to mention her penchant for entertaining people with her whimsical and sometimes somber folk tunes. There’s just something about Birdie Busch. For tonight’s show she’ll be joined by another masterful band in The Extraordinaires. The band earned a great amount of success last year thanks to their latest Pen Pals EP, and they’ve recently been showing new printed artwork on fabric covers for what may be the next release to come, Dress For Nasty Weather. Seeing both artists playing the intimate Boot & Saddle stage together is reason enough to attend; But the first 15 people entering through the doors will also be receiving an advance copy of openers Lux Perpetua’s new album Hehbehdehbehbehdeh.
